The old traditional cache CASTLEHILL by Jasy is dead but has emerged again as an easy WherIgo cache that takes less than an hour.
CASTLEHILL (Slottsberget)
Lindholmen castle is an old historic place and were presented to Queen Blanka of Namur by King Magnus Eriksson as a morninggift (not bad!) when they married 1335.

There are no documentation of the castle design as it was burnt by the Danes early.
Most of the houses here were made by shipyard workers in about 1870.and they of cause used the remains of the castle as foundation for there houses so I guess nothing is visable today. If you look at the old drawing from 1864 maybe you can imagine and see some walls . The castle were probably surrownded with water as it is named Lindholmen ( holme is a small island in swedish)
Take a stroll in this picturesque area and collect information for the final cache
You start below by the ferry and find a narrow lane if you aim for the closest zone and you can take the zones in order and the 2 last zone comes up when you have been by the 3rd zone and in the last zone you get information how to find the cache.
You have to load the game click here and put it in your WherIgo directory.
The program works with all Garmin Colorado and Oregon. PocketPC and certain Mobilphones require additional program
But remember that it is a Beta release and may not work on all plattforms.
Do not walk away from the zone untill you received the information
Take it easy,save the game along the way and do not forget to scroll down to view the text below the pictures.

It is very nice to take this cache at night in the dark with the city light illuminating the sky
It is only the last 3 numbers in North57.42. A B C and East 11.55. D E F you will get.
When I'm out caching I carry a supply of replacement log sheets so that I can help out the cache owner by carrying out any maintenance that's required.
If anybody would like to replace any logs that need urgent servicing in my caches, please do so. |
