Geocache Description:

A water cache located along the Salmon River that will require a boat.

Salmon Cove

I placed this cache while kayaking up the Salmon River. I already have my own island up north and figured I should get one further south, and this one looked nice.  You might need to get out of your boat to find it. Tides do influence the water levels here, with a difference between high and low of about 3 feet. The cache is located about 2 1/2 miles (paddling distance) from the boat launch.

During our paddle, we saw lots of wildlife including fish, frogs, herons,vultures and more. This area can be busy with other paddlers as well as motor boats. The fishing here is really good. I hope you have as much fun finding this as I did placing it.

Parking is available at the Connecticut DEP Salmon River Boat Launch in East Haddam at N 41° 28.033 W 072° 28.086.
