Geocache Description:

A small traditional cache placed down by the beach, its a 200ml camo sistema container with pen and log, room for small swaps.

This Area is known as Omau, a railway operated through here taking rocks from a Quarry to the Buller River mouth to build the river entrance, where the Hotel is was the Omau station. It's called Cape Foulwind Beach, there are photos in the Hotels restaurant of it in the early days with the locals down there at picnic day all rigged up in their long dresses etc.

Its a beautiful quiet beach, great for collection mussels or dabbling in the rock pools along the reef.

Park at the Cliff Top just past the hotel where there are good views of the Steeples.
To get to this cache walk down the track which goes along the cliff top, you will need to watch the kids, there are also some steps further down.

Watch the tide if its in too far then you wont get to the cache and be careful, the rocks are VERY slippery.
