Geocache Description:

Out of the way PnG. Simple, kid friendly, and a generally safe to find cache. All hours are acceptable but there are potential mugglers and periodic Military Police patrols. Please bring some trash out with you (CITO encouraged). I would have liked to get this one all the way out to Iroquios Point but it is not open to the public. Starting out with a FTF coin for one of our local diehards, a travel bug, and a trackable coin.

The history of Iroquios Point is very interesting and reminds me much of my own Hawaiian adventure. The USS Iroquios was a post Civil War tug boat, built on the mainland east coast and eventually brought to Hawaii for Pacific service. Before Pearl Harbor was dredged for larger ships the Iroquios got stuck in the mud and the area when thence named after her. She may have been stuck for a short period of time but it is a beautiful place to be stuck. She had a long life and a very productive service...... if you are really interested check this out on Wikipedia.
