Roadside cache in full view but.....
Accessible from Dam Rd without any need to enter reserve. Not suitable by night due uneven terrain at logical parking place.
Exercise caution due to traffic on Dam Rd and be aware of Barbed Wire fence which could snarl loose clothing.
Many people are ignorant to the fact that Rietvlei Nature Reserve actually extends to the north of Dam Rd (extension of Nellmapius).
From Dam Rd there are two entrances to the reserve, the most obvious being the one leading to the south and which affords access to the angling area and grounds used by Pretoria Sailing Club (PSC). The second, and less obvious entrance leads northward into an open area in which only farm animals such as cattle and horses have frequently been seen. In true South African style there is a small semi-permanent dwelling and cultivated area visible too. This is most likely refered to as "Home" by one of the workers.
The cache is located at this second entrance. The word "hidden" could be technically misleading since the cache is not hidden; it is disguised.
