Geocache Description:

I came upon this spot while out caching and I thought there should really be a cache here.

Aviation in Stillwater started around 1917. Where the planes would land in pastures or wide open grassy areas. The City of Stillwater purchased land what was then called Searcy Field. It was named after George Searcy, it's manager. It was then just a half mile stretch of grass, a hanger, and a wooden frame office. They used the airport to transport airmail.
