From the Trails parking lot head down the Red Trail going down stream alongside Sweetwater Creek. After a fairly easy half mile you’ll encounter the five story ruins of the New Manchester Mill. The next half mile is much more strenuous as the Red Trail passes the whitewater rapids (up to class IV at "The Falls"). At this point the red trail ends and effectively becomes the White Trail. Approximately one hour hike from the parking lot to the cache. This scenic hike is NOT for the "weak at heart".
All TRAILS IN THE PARK CLOSE AT DARK. Please check sunset times and leave with enough time to hike out before sunset. Continued tardiness could result in the termination of this cache AND a criminal trespassing charge. Please also abide by all other park rules. In an emergency or if lost please call 911 (although cell coverage can be spotty downstream past the mill).*this cache has been given authorized official permission to be placed by the Sweetwater Creek State Park Management. *The Cache is a Military Ammo Box. *Remember Trash in Trash out.
