The forested hillside where the cache is hidden once belonged to the McLaughlin family an immigrant Irish family spanning at least the 1850 to 1870 years. The property is now in Turkey Swamp Park. It is an easy hike to the location, but there is a creek (Manasquan River) to cross. The cache can also be approached from Burke Road but the route has more thorns but no creek. Make sure to observe the private property signs. The cache is about three feet over from the original Shagbark hickory tree location at GZ on the hill which over looks the creek. The cache contains Uncle Elwyn's final resting place. Once the cache is found,at GZ, walk 30 meters at a magnetic bearing of 220 degrees (true is 207 degrees) and find a real treasured resting place but don't touch anything. NOTE: WEAR ORANGE; HUNTERS MAY USE THIS AREA IN FALL AND WINTER. HUNTING IS PROHIBITED ON ALL SUNDAYS.
