Während der Faltung der unterdevonischen Gesteine vor etwa 300 Millionen Jahren, aber auch zu Beginn der Tertiärzeit (60-2 Millionen Jahre vor heute), sind aus großer Tiefe heiße, wässrige Lösungen aufgestiegen, die unterschiedliche Mineralien gelöst enthielten. Sie stiegen entlang von Spalten und Gängen in dem Faltengebirge auf, wo bei Abkühlung aus ihnen Metalle in Form von Erzen auskristallisierten.
So entstanden in unserem Gebiet charakteristische Erzgänge, die früher vielerorts im Brohl- und Vinxtbachtal abgebaut wurden.
Achtung! Es werden genau die Angaben gesucht, die auf der Tafel gemacht werden! Internet Lösungen werden nicht akzeptiert.
Um die Logfreigabe für diesen Cache zu erhalten, beantworte folgende Fragen bzw. erfülle folgende Aufgaben:
- Wozu wurde der Quarz früher verwendet ? Es werden zwei Beispiele genannt.
- Wie lang können die Quarzgänge sein ?
- Sei so freundlich und mach ein Foto von dir oder wenn du alleine bist, von deinem GPS vor der kleinen Birke auf dem Bild und füge es nach Erhalt der Logfreigabe deinem Log hinzu.

During the development/folding of the underdevonian rocks 300 million years ago, but also at the beginning of the tertiary period (60-2 million years ago) there have been watery solutions rising up consisting of different minerals. They rised along fissures in the folded mountains where metal in form of ore crystallized during the cooling.
So the typical veins of ore developed in our region, that were mined in many places in the "Brohl- und Vinxtbachtal" in the past.

To get the permission to log this cache, answer the following questions or fulfil the following tasks:
- What was quartz used for in the past ? Two examples are given.
- How long the "Quarzgänge" could be ?
- Kindly take a picture from you or your GPS when you are alone, in front of the small birch you can see on the picture and add it after you received your log permission to your log, please.
