This cache is located in Salisbury, CT at Maria Peters Memorial Park.
Lake Wononpakook or "Long Pond" is a great place to spend a little time. This small park features a great lake perfect for a paddle or a great place for dogs to swim!
I've had a difficult time finding the meaning of "Wononpakook" but the best I've come up with is "the land at the bend in the pond."
Be sure to take in the scenery and notice the local wildlife. The first time I came here we saw a heron with a fish or rodent in his mouth. Very cool to see, and so close!
The park closes at dusk. Stealth may be required, but likely not. It's a peaceful spot.
***Apparently there is a patch of PI near the cache. Please be careful! I am considering moving the cache to a less PI infested area. My sincere apologies!!***
