Geocache Description:

The cache is a 4L plastic camoed container hanging secured 3 feet of the ground on a tree. Cache contains logbook pencil and swag. Please secure it as you found it or better and take anything you might desire.
That's the easy part....the hard part is getting there!!!

Please do not attempt this on your own and plan your trip very carefully!!!

There are several alternatives to reach the cache. Whatever alternative you use make sure you do it in a safe manner. Bring a partner with you; be well equipped just in case.

-Kayaking is an option but you need to be in good shape and have experience to battle the tides and currents.

-Wait for a low tide and take a 4 wheeler over the sand banks over to the island. While placing my cache I saw several people doing just that out an about with their all terrain vehicles hunting for the large quahog.

Or you do what I did and walk across on a low tide. To be safe choose a new moon or a full moon tide, that is when the tides are extra low giving you plenty of time to get across and back.

Here is what I did: June 25th was 1 day before full moon. I parked my car N 46. 08.112 W 063.13.643 a full hour before low tide.
I walked SE along the beach until Camp Seggie (Camp Segunakadeck) appeared on my right. At N 46 07.904 W 063 13.294 location I started my crossing toward the island. You can aim for the cache from these coordinates and head straight for it.

Round trip including finding a good spot for the cache took 1.5 Hour. I tracked my trip and it was 7.06km. I must say that I did do a little detour and ended up in some muck and had to backtrack to where I finally placed the cache. You will not have to deal with that! On the way across I did had to walk trough some water but never more than above ankle deep. I had plenty of time to get back and once back at the car there where still people fishing for clams out there and the water was still far out.

Remember I did this on a Full Moon Tide and started my walk an Hour before low tide!

Note: Bring a friend and some survival supplies in case you do get stranded for some reason or another! Please do not attempt this on your own!!
