"Area 51" - not for the faint of heart
The deep black depths of outer space. Conquer your fears and soar past the planets. This will lead you to… “Area 51.” Be the first to solve the mystery. We'd like to give a big thanks to Mr. Christensen (who we bribed 500,000 demales) for safe passage to Area 51. Please bring your personal letterboxing stamp, and your own log book if you have them. The stamp pad and stamps are NOT trade items, they stay with the cache. If you don't have your own personal stamp and stamp pad log book, please sign the other log book !! The adventure begins at Elm's 6th Moon. Here you will begin your journey. Fly straight away perpendicular from the parallel steel rods that carried the ancient iron horses. You need to travel this vector until you are stopped. You are now 50 feet from your docking point. Here you will land your earthly vehicle in the parking area in quadrant HC. Exit your earth vehicle and strap yourself into your “spaceship,” ready to conquer the extraterrestrial adventure that lies ahead. Plug in N 40° 35.401 W 098° 22.431 to find stonehenge. “Stonehenge” is a mystical, unexplained icon. Some believe it was built by extraterrestrial beings. Find the landmark that looks much like Stonehenge and you are headed into the correct galaxy. Next, locate the “fixed sun,” the sun that never moves but is always visible, day and night. Once you reach this “fixed sun” you’ll soar past all of the planets in the Solar System. You know the order, space traveler. Just follow the path created by the planets. When you reach the last planet, you may become a bit disoriented. For the next landmark lies far ahead. Have no fear, however, and stay the course. The planets are pointing you in the way you should go. Continue traveling this direction until you come upon the “Great Field of Monoliths.” These stone structures fill the field in a variety of shapes and sizes, some old and some new. Enter the “Great Field of Monoliths” through the middle portal. Be brave, space travelers, and make sure you notice your surroundings. You are looking for the next clue to the mysterious “Area 51.” The key is: BLK 3 Do not confuse this with BLK-3, for there is only one true key. Once you find BLK 3 Cruise 20 paces to the west to the “Tree of Melva.” This peaceful, safe place will be a nice place to rest and recharge your engines for the next leg of the journey. You will need all of your energy to withstand the challenges that follow so take your time here. When you leave the “Tree of Melva,” proceed at 4 degrees at a distance of approx .13 selim. A caution to the travel weary: If your bearing is off, you could be sucked into the Black Hole on your left, so check yourself before traveling on. If your bearing is correct, you will reach the “4 foot tall Siamese Sentinels.” Standing straight and true, these two joined sentinels are known for their inconsistency. Some days, they may be friendly but most of the time they are not. The Sentinels are not in a good mood today. You must run! Run east but beware the dangerous “Proton Laser String of Light.” You must not deviate from your course. The “Proton Laser String of Light” is deathly close. Be careful not to cross it or touch it. This dangerous string can maim or kill. Proceed east until the laws of physics do not hold true. You will suddenly reach the place “Where Light Bends.” Here you should rest for a moment. Collect your thoughts. Rejuvenate your courage. Now, set your course at 145 degrees for 40 yards. Go as far as you can into the quadrant. Yes....as far as you can. You will be stopped. Do not fret. This is part of your trek. If the season is right, you MAY see the ruins of two cities. The white city to the west, and the red city also to your west, but closer. You will know you are in the correct spot by the 6 foot, nearly horizontal pointer. You will know this is the true pointer by the triple double red ingots. Now.....turn around to view where the light bends. That point and where you stand is your vector to solving the mystery. Turn around again. The secret does lie on the other side of the universe. You will see four to five Guards, along with a larger Guard, that is behind this initial line of defense. This larger Guard is holding the secret. Once sighted, follow the advice of the vector and travel forward, but proceed with caution for I have seen remnants of carelessly discarded electrons from jammed proton lasers........You are now re-entering the earth’s atmosphere. It is at this point that your journey may come to an abrupt end. Your fate is in the hands of the Sun. If there has been many moons worth of “Non-Solar Activity,” you may have to return home and try to re-enter another day. If the “Solar Flares” have been favorable, you may proceed with caution. Make a choice. You must flank and go around the smaller Guards or bust straight through. Only one choice will allow you to safely land on earth and find “Area 51.” Choose wisely! If you reach “Area 51” and learn its secrets, remember to follow the code of those who have traveled here before. Once you leave, you are sworn to keep those secrets sacred. You are sworn never again to speak of “Area 51.”
