Channel Link #29 - Muchelney Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

appleorch: This series is split among six CO's. As three of those CO's are inactive, many caches are not being maintained. Whilst a popular series for several years, it's attraction appears to have waned recently and it's time to call it a day.

Geocache Description:

For more information see the Bonus cache listing GC2AYCC or the first in the series GC2AYAC

Muchelney....
In medieval times Muchelney was home to an influential Benedictine Abbey. Excavations of the 10th century abbey and the preserved remains of the 15th century cloister and abbot's house are in the care of English Heritage and can all be seen.
Also an interesting parish church and thatched priest's house owned by the National Trust. Nearby are the workplace of world famous potter John Leach and the trout fishing lakes at Thorney.

The Cache...
The original cache was muggled, the replacement only lasted a couple of months before that went as well, third time wasn't very lucky, the third lasted nearly a year, so this is number four! (hopefully this will last a bit longer). The cache is accessed from outside the gate. Take care muggles are about in the carpark, at the campsite and visisting the Abbey and Church, so please use stealth.
