Update September 2013: This cache has been muggled several times, and the bushes that gave cover to GZ from the adjacent camping ground have been pruned back, so please be very discreet when finding and replacing. I suggest you also take the cache to a picnic table or somewhere away from GZ to sign it. Thanks.
This structure is the original Burnett Heads lighthouse (then called South Head Lighthouse). It operated from 1873 until 1972 when it was replaced by the current automatic lighthouse.
Prior to 1873 it was operating on Moreton Island and was moved to Burnett Heads in that year. It was re-sited to this park in 1972 for preservation.
