Geocache Description:

Sturdy footwear is recommended as the trail may be muddy and slippery following rain. There is a trailhead and on-street parking at the intersection of Quaint Acres Drive and Apple Grove Road; the cache is about a 15 minute hike from the trailhead.

The purpose of this cache is to honor a great American, Rachel Carson, author of Silent Spring. Rachel Carson is considered one of the founders of the environmental movement. The cache is located along the Rachel Carson Greenway, which follows the Northwest Branch through portions of Montgomery County. I particularly love the section of the trail where the cache is located because it is so verdant and quiet despite its proximity to New Hampshire Avenue. The cache contains an unregistered TB as a prize for the FTF.

Please replace the cache as you found it -- please ensure that it is not on the ground and/or visible.

Congratulations on FTF: tsnorth
