Cache is hidden at Buttertubs Marsh Bird Sanctuary. Follow the hard packed trail, no need for any bushwacking. Please respect the birds and sensitive plants in the area.
My series of birdwatching caches would not be complete without one placed at Buttertubs Marsh. This is definitely one of my favorite areas for viewing birds. There are also some interesting historical items and ruins near the cache, check them out too! At this scenic marsh you may see ducks, geese, mergansers, grebes, kingfishers, herons, hummingbirds, swallows, wrens, chickadees, warblers, sparrows, merlin and, my favorite, osprey. Keep an eye out for turtles, snakes and the resident beavers also. The day we planted the cache, we returned a large turtle to the marsh after he tried to cross Jingle Pot Road! Cache is a small bison tube. Watch for muggles and rehide cache carefully. FTF prize is a $5 giftcard. Happy caching! A BIG CONGRATS TO ceebeecee ON HIS 500TH FTF!!!!
