Geocache Description:

Camouflaged ammo can

Congrats to TroopNoob for the FTF!! It was sitting there for a while. We were concerned there was an unknown issue with it

This cache was hidden by Prescott Patrol and Kreg Krew. It is a camouflaged 30 cal ammo can containing various patriotic items. This cache is located on mountains, in view of mountains. Hence the name of the cache. In the winter you should get very clear and beautiful views of the San Bernadino Mountains including Big Bear and Arrowhead. There should be some good photo opportunities so please post some up. If you can please replace with similar patriotic items. However, that is only a request and not a requirement.

It is best to approach this cache from east. If you are traveling from the west you will have to cross over traffic to park. There are no parking restrictions posted here but CA law says you can't leave your car more than a few hours unattended. It shouldn't take you near that long though. When you re-enter the highway it is safest to travel west. Again, this is to avoid crossing over traffic lanes on a dangerous road.

The hike to the cache can be a bit difficult due to the steep terrain. Please take all precautions and watch for snakes in the summer time.

You may be required to have a wilderness permit to park your car here. But they are fairly cheap and there are other good caches here to get your money worth. However, a recent ruling in the 9th Circuit determined an 'Adventure Pass' for just parking in or entering the park (Cleveland National Forest) was not required. (visit link)
