#3 Branch Brook Park Power Trail Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

I have read about the power trails being placed out West in Nevada and thought it was time to bring the concept out to the East coast. Clearly I don't fully understand the concept of power trails because:

a) most of these caches are .13 miles or more apart. The average power trail tries to have them .10 apart.
b) the type of hides and the cache sizes vary, ranging from micro to regular. Most power trails consist of the same micro containers hidden in the same type of spot over and over.
c) these caches are in a beautiful park rather than along some barren roadway in the desert.
d) there are only 20 caches on this trail (does that even quality as a power trail?). You sure aren’t going to break any records for caches found in a day here (see the ET Highway power trail [click on the picture above for more info] consisting of 1000 caches in a row)

What does qualify these caches as a power trail is that they can all be found within easy walking distance from the road in the park where there is lots of free parking. Or leave the car at the beginning of the trail and ride your bike or take a nice walk around the park for a nice day of exercise. I scoped out the location for the first 12 caches during a leisurely walk around the park while waiting for my car to be repaired at the nearby Mieneke shop.

I recommend you start with #1 and work your way around the park. The park roadway north of Bloomfield Ave. is a one way while the southern roadway is a two way. I guess you could start with #20 and then work your way north as well. Whatever way you do it HAVE FUN!!!

Follow the wide trail and then it will be a short bushwhack to the cache.
