Oak Grove Cemetery, adopted by Grandpa Gene Traditional Cache
GrandpaGene: There is now a "No Trespassing" sign right at the entrance leaving hardly room for a geomobile to get off the road. I may try to go back up and find a place for a hide on the legal side of the hide, but the current position can not be maintained. Archived with extreme regret.

Tucked away from the common passerby, you will find this little pull off that is known as Oak Grove Cemetery.
The cache is located before the entrance to this cemetery, you will not need to trespass to achieve it.
This v-shaped cemetery which is 1 acre and 23 rods is one of the oldest African American cemetery in this area purchased June 15th, 1901.
When Ibiwacko left the area and put his caches up for adoption I asked to adopt this one for a matter of personal history. Back in the '70s through early '80s Mickie and I competed in a lot of road rallies. The ones that were on the Penninsula often ended with a DIY (Do it Yourself) leg that began here at the end of the timed portion of the event. The road this cemetery is one was known as "Check Point Alley" as there are three good control locations, both going east and west, on the road.
A lot of the headstones in here were carved by hand with a chisel.
