Welcome to Morrinsville......
Did you hear about the book called Welcome to New Zealand by John Easby? No.
Well we did. Josh Easby visited almost every village, town and city during a 15,000 km road trip of his adopted country. He photographed more than 350 'welcome' signs on the roads in and out of Kiwi communities, showing why New Zealanders have a worldwide reputation for friendliness. He came to Morrinsville and took a picture and in his book said it was better than most.
This caused a bit of a stir in the local community as the sign was under going its regular maintenace. However, Mr Easby was unaware that when he took the photo the sign had just been waterblasted and was about to be repainted.
In response to any misconceptions about the sign stemming from his book, Mr Easby returned to Morrinsville to recognise the efforts the KMB volunteers put into mainting the sign and gave them a copy of his book.
The container is a small blue sistema. Contains log book and pen.
