The Steenburgen cemetary cache is located at the Steenburgen cemetary. I lived at the residence, which is the big white and green plantation house for a few years. This was part of a working farm called Poplar Grove Farm. There is over 1700 acres with this farm. No longer a working farm its falling apart but has its place in history. Part of the grounds include the house, one room school house, log slave quarters and an icehouse. The wood floors inside the home actually are warped in a few places where the river once flooded years ago. The cemetary has graves dating back to revolutionary times, including the Steenburgens that once lived here. There are also slaves buried outside of the main cemetary as this was how they did this in the period , they were in unmarked graves. The cache is located just outside the cemetary and is as fairly simple cache i placed there just for the enjoyment of the area.
