2500: Money Bags (tell your friends!!!) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mongo: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the Frisco Highline Trail, and highlights an interesting fact about the month of July 2011. The trail is only open during daytime hours.

I try and hide a cache every time I reach another 100 finds, so here's the cache for #2500.

Recently, you may have seen something similar to the following in your e-mail inbox or Facebook news feed:

"This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So, forward this to your friends and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui the one who does not forward ..... will be without money. I'm not taking any chances!"

This occurrence of the same day of the week occurring three times in the same month happening only once every 823 years actually does NOT occur every 823 years. In fact, this happened twice in 2010 (in August and October). The last time this happened for the month of July was in 2005 and will happen again in 2016. So don't believe everything you read!

This cache was hidden on July 1st, 2011, the first day of a "Money Bags" month.

Please watch out for jogging / biking muggles. You will need to do a little bushwhacking after you step off the trail. Watch out for possible poison ivy in the area. The cache may be a little tricky to reach since you have to step onto a slope to access it. Please do NOT remove the cache from its hiding spot. Simply twist the lid to open the cache. Please write your name very small (I couldn't fit a very large logbook due to the size of the container) and make sure you screw the lid back on tightly.

Be sure to tell your friends about this cache and free money will grow on the trees nearby! Make sure your friends tell their friends! It's AWESOME!!!

Good luck and have fun!
