Geocache Description:

A nice short walk up the west end of the Old St. Margarets Bay Road.

Wooden's Cove is the western terminus for the scenic and historic Old St. Margaret's Bay Road. The original road bed is from the 1800's and was built to connect Halifax with the St. Margarets Bay area and points south west. Part of the original old road extends from Goodwood to Glen Margaret. This cache is located near Wooden's Cove, at the Glen Margaret (west) end of the corridor. The road is gravelly, rocky and in places, muddy; but is accessible to foot travelers as well as mountain bikes and off highway vehicles.

In March of 2010, "A Walking Guide to the Old St. Margarets Bay Road" was published. Please contact the Five Bridges Wilderness Heritage Trust at www.fivebridgestrust.ca for more information.

The cache itself is a small Lock and Lock container with the requisite log book, plus an assortment of Canada Day style items.
