Geocache Description:


THE PREAMBLE

The Brock Trail is a scenic pathway that runs through city parks and along Brockville's beautiful waterfront. This multi cache brings you to the most historic and picturesque section of the trail. Enjoy the prolific and informative plaques along the way which provide a glimpse into the past.


THE TOUR

You will visit 10 plaques, all within 110 meters of the river. You will gather various numbers and use these to determine the location of the one final physical cache. Do them in any order, but be aware that plaque 10 is closest to the physical cache..

Site # 1: The Brockville Museum, formerly the Issac Beecher House - What year was the front of the house erected?

Site # 2: Brockville Yacht Club, formerly the McCrady Tannery - What year was rail transportation added to the site?

Site # 3: Smart's Foundry, a significant industrial complex - When was Smart's Foundry founded?

Site # 4: The William Buell House - When was the house built?

Site # 5: Forsyth' s Raid - How many men crossed the river from Morristown?

Site # 6: James Hall & Co./Ontario Glove Works - How many people were employed here year round?

Site # 7: Saint Lawrence,the martyr - In what year was Laurentius executed?

Site # 8: Brockville Rowing Club - What year is depicted in the picture?

Site # 9: The Brockville "Van" or Caboose - In what year was the caboose built?

Site # 10: The Brockville Farmers Market - In what year was the market first established?
