River Ayr Walk runs alongside the River Ayr from it's source at Glenbuck until it reaches the sea at Ayr a distance of around 42 miles
This section of the walk covers the area between Ballochmyle, near Mauchline, to Sorn further east
The cache is located on a section of the walk which takes you through lots of natural woodland. Take your time to enjoy the sights and sounds of this trail as it winds through the Ayrshire countryside.
The cache is placed at a point which gives fantastic views of Sorn castle.
Sorn Castle Dates from the 14th Century. It is built on a cliff overhanging the River Ayr. The woodlands and gardens were laid out in 18th Century. The castle is essentially a family home and has fine examples of Scottish paintings.
