Geocache Description:

The Independence Day cache was placed by a Brit and a Yank on the 4th of July 2010 to mark US Independence Day.

There is visitor parking at the site, and the walk is short and flat. Please heed signs in area.

This site was used by the US Army Air Force (USAAF Station 159) and the RAF (RAF Wormingford) in WWII. During WWI, the airfield was used to house anti-Zeppelin aircraft. It is now home to the Essex and Suffolk Gliding Club and a lovely place to spend a little time walking around and watching the gliders.

The cache is a black micro with a small treat for the first four to find--four American flag postage stamps. Happy Fourth of July!
