Geocache Description:

This cache is placed within Blengdale Forest on the outskirts of Gosforth, please be aware that the road to the car park is narrow & windy. Drive with care.

The cache is placed at the opening of a small old (not working) quarry but unless you let little ones go scrambling about there should be no danger & there is a sign asking you not to enter !! The walk is child friendly. The container is a small tub shape with some log paper but you will need to BYOP. You will be close to the River Bleng and if there has been a recent downpour there can be some impressive water flow. Be aware that this is a midgey / flying insect area if you are prone to getting bitten. The forest is popular with fell runners, walkers with or without dogs & horse riders.
This cache has been placed with permission from the North West Forestry Commission so please respect the environment & don’t leave any litter.
