Geocache Description:

Everyone is familiar with George Washington's crossing of the Deleware, but not many know about George Washington crossing the "Mighty Ohio"!!!

Way back in 1770 George Washington came to this area to check out the land he fought to win, and hoped to own. This is where he crossed the Ohio river on his way back to Fort Pitt from Mingo Town, which is now Mingo Junction, Ohio.

At the above posted coordinates you will find a historical sign telling about the crossing. The final will be at 40 18.4X4 080 3Y.824 with the X being the second digit of the date George reached Mingo Town, and the Y being the date in October that George started his journey.
