Original text: I've been meaning to put a cache here for some time and finally got around to it today. It is everything I wanted it to be as far as difficulty! It was a major let-down to find the large amount of garbage. Remnants of cars, washing machines and refrigerators are everywhere.
Edited Text: Well this is the first time I've been back in this area for a few years. This USED to be a spectacularly difficult cache. Now, a trail leads right up to it! LOL. That's ok. The work that they did in this area to make nice hiking paths FAR outweighs me having to reduce the difficulty of this cache. I still hope you enjoy it. And the folks that did it when it was still hard can tell the young'uns what it used to be like :)
There's probably a few ways to approach this cache. I parked at 40.49105 N 80.15359 W and just started in along the old driveway. That ends pretty quickly though. There are a lot of deer paths that are helpful. I tried to stay up towards the road so that I would avoid a big climb at the end and this strategy was pretty successful.
I would not suggest this cache for young children as it is hard and some of the terrain is very difficult. The cache is a large lock-n-lock with a log book and pen.
UPDATE: Today I accessed the cache by parking at the Montour Trail lot and going up the creek. With low water like today I found this a little easier than the way I previously listed. However, I think the difficulty would remain about the same because of the killer uphill bushwhack at the end. With high water, going this would be substantially harder.
If you find any remnants of the old road down there let me know the coordinates and I will add them to the waypoints!!
