Geocache Description:

This is a location where a very Old Japanese House, now a Museum, may be visited by the public. It is on the "Ome-Kaido" (Main Road to Ome), and should be fairly easy to find. It's a local cultural asset maintained by the City of Ome.

Construction on this home began in the year 1611, and was completed in 1616. This is the home of the well known "YOSHINO" family. This is the same family name that the wonderful "Yoshino-Baigo" Plum Park ( See GC1KXMM & GC1KXMQ) was named after.

This house has been remodled several times over the years and has remained in excellent condition. It is a very good example of the traditional Japanese home of those days.

The home was finally donated to Ome City in 1975, and has been open to the public to this day.

To find this Cache you will need to answer a simple question and solve a simple math problem to find the value for "X".

The Question is: From the Start coordinates provided above look South toward the main road (Ome-Kaido). Now, take about 8 ~ 10 steps South and look to your right (West) toward the fence area within the House property area. How many public restrooms are there against the fence line ??

This historical place is great for a family visit, and parking is available during open hours which are approx, 10:00am till 5:00pm. There is NO charge to visit this Old residence so please take the time to see this place, walk around in-side and hear the information that the caretaker can provide to answer your questions about this place.
