Caution: This is an ACTIVE Firestation. Emergency vehicles and firefighters may be entering or leaving without warning.
Please keep clear of the Bay Doors, Apron and Fire Apparatus exit area.
Please park ONLY in the public parking on the East side of the station. Parking is available within 10' of the cache (hint, hint)
This cache is dedicated to the memory of William Belinson. Eggertsville Firefighter for 59 years. Our longest serving Fire Chief for 17 years and Commissioner for 8 years. More than any other single person, Billy brought the Eggertsville Fire Dept forward to the 21st Century. Billy was a firefighter to the end. He answered an emergency call on the morning of August 18, 2007 and died of natural causes later that evening.
This cache is a 1 pint size container (.5 liter). It is off the ground, winter friendly, and in plain sight. But VERY well camouflaged. If you found my other cache "No More NTSC", you know exactly what to look for. Encrypted hints below.
There is only a logbook and pencil in the cache, no trade items. But there is a bit of room for a small travel bug or two.
I am listing this as wheelchair accessible. The cache is "not quite" within reach of paved surface (hint, hint), but the lawn is very smooth and flat. A wheelchair should have no problem rolling across a couple feet of lawn to get to this cache.
Please be sure to put the cache back neatly, and exactly where you found it.
