Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the picnic area at the Yanggu Unification Hall.

Yanggu Unification Hall has fascinating exhibits relating to North Korea and the efforts toward reunification.

Next to it is the War Memorial Hall with exhibits pertaining to the Korean War, particularly concerning the battles fought near hear.

There is a large monument and several pieces of military equipment on display. On the north edge there is a picnic are with tables and benches. The cache is located near here.

NOTE: You MUST purchase permits here in order to drive beyond this point to view the "Fourth Tunnel" area and the Eulji Observation Point which overlooks the DMZ.

The Fourth Tunnel area has an exhibit hall, a monument, and military equipment displays. The highlight for visitors is a short ride down the rails inside this tunnel built by the North Koreans for infiltration. This tunnel was discovered in 1990 with the help of a German Shepherd dog named "Hunt."

The road up to the Eulji Observatory is very steep, but the view is fantastic. Not only is there a great vista over the DMZ and the mountains of North Korea, but there is a stunning view of the Punchbowl are to the south, a very striking geological formation, and the site of some fierce fighting during the Korean War.

The cache is a medium Lock-&-Lock container with small trade items, including a new Signal Geocoin of mine starting its journey.
