Na tomto miste doslo po skonceni druhe svetove valky ke zbytecnemu nestesti. Obyvatele Borove se rozhodli sesbirat munici, ktera zustala pohazena v obci a okoli a zlikvidovat ji. Odnaseli ji na predem vyhrazene misto v lese. Lide vsak necekali na odbornou pomoc armady ani policie a pri neodborne manipulaci doslo k vybuchu nahromadene munice. Vybuch zabil ctyri muze, paty zemrel v nemocnici v Policce. Byli jimi Ladislav Bohac, Jaroslav Halamka, Bohuslav Makovsky, Jaroslav Kucera a Frantisek Bouska. Dalsi ctyri lide meli vetsi stesti a i pres rozsahla zraneni se je podarilo zachranit. Misto tragedie dnes pripomina pomnik a hlavne nekolik hlubokych jam vytvorenych vybuchem a hromady zeleza, pozustatku munice. Vsechno jsou to prazde nabojnice, ale muze se stat, ze uvidite cele hlavice. V tom pripade s nimi rozhodne nemanipulujte a privolejte policii. Samotna kes neni nikde zahrabana v zemi, tudiz nikde nekopejte, je to nebezpecne. Je to nadoba od krmeni pro ryby.
12. 7. 2015 cyklista zahledl jeden z granatu. Policie privezla male bagry a cele okoli pomniku rozbagrovala. Byla nalezena vice jak stovka nevybuchylch granatu.
