With a car it is a little walk in. Carnelian is a semi-precious gem stone used in jewelry. The hills in this area have small pieces of carnelian. .You may find larger ones once in a while. It does not take a very large piece to make a setting for jewelry. Some of the hills have none, but others may have a lot. For those who have never hunted it, you walk into the sun and watch the ground ahead. It will glow reddish. When you find the first one you will recognize it from then on.
