Welcome to one of a series of geocaches placed on Camel's Hump State Park by the land manager.
The Burrows Trail is named after the Burrows family, which resided in a house just down the road from the parking area (the second house (white, and quite close to the road) on the right going back down the hill). The Burrows Trail used to be known as the Old Huntington Trail, and was one of the first on the mountain, dating back to the late 1800's. This trail is one of the most popular hikes on Camel's Hump State Park, and leads just over 2 miles to the Hut Clearing, just 3/10 of a mile from the summit. Several thousand hikers use this trail every year. From the Hut Clearing a section of the Long Trail is used to get up to the summit. The Hut Clearing was the location of three buildings used for overnight adventures in the very early 1900's by the Camel's Hump Club.
