ST-BCMS:ELE Traditional Cache

GeneP: Someone used bolt cutters to cut the
lock. I had it chained to a tree so
no one would steal it! I found the
lock. It's such a great place for a
cache but I will have to give some
thought to putting out another one.

Geocache Description:


This cache is placed as part of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail, located within the Eastern Lake Erie Region. There are 15 caches hidden within this region, and geocachers finding ten or more Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail caches within this region can earn a free Eastern Lake Erie Region geocoin. If you are interested in participating in the Geotrail, please visit Seawaytrail.com/geotrail
for a list of locations where you can pick up a free copy of the official Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail Logbook. This cache contains a unique hole punch which must stay with the cache. Use this hole punch in space #4 on the Eastern Lake Erie Region page of your Official Great Lakes Seaway Trail Logbook. This hole punch is NOT a trade item. Log books can be picked up locally at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center at the entrance to Presque Isle.

The Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies (BCMS) is a facility for teaching wood boat building, navigational skills and other maritime related subjects to at- risk children, migrant worker's children, after school programs, etc. Next door is the brig ship Niagara(sometimes she is out sailing or under a winter cover), the Erie County public library(rest rooms, lunch counter) and the Maritime Museum as well as a plethora of nearby caches. Several restaurants and a class hotel are within 1/2 mile.
