I had the privilege of meeting IBEW-Ret (Larry) while hunting a
cache down at Meramec Bottoms Road. We never did find the cache
(bad coords) but we did become friends, which was even better.
It wasn't that long ago I was taking his picture of his 600th
cache find, and now he has over 5,000 finds! Larry really knows how
to dig and sniff the caches out and when caching together, he
usually comes up with the find first. Of course we must say
something about his wonderful wife Carolyn who supports his hobby
and gives him the latitude to pursue geocaching with his
friends.
Since we've met I've had a great time caching with Larry,
traveling to GeoWoodstock, doing island caches and hunting caches
on Caribbean islands. He even helped me put one out on Table Rock
Lake and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
To celebrate his 5,000th milestone I've planted a cache in a
small public area in of Hillsboro, MO. It won't be hard to find. It
is a micro so bring your own pen.
