Geocache Description:


Who is Mr. Burns? Born in 1878, Doctor William Milton Burns was a practitioner of medicine for over fifty years, and in 1919 was elected as Mayor of North Little Rock. Mr. Burns was an active leader in his community, and in 1948 he petitioned to have nearly 900 acres of land devoted for recreational use. As a member of the Park Committee, and with the help of volunteers, Mr. Burns was able to clear off brush, build pavilions, create picnic areas, and lay the foundation to a park that is enjoyed by thousands of people each year. In 1950, North Little Rock Mayor Ross Lawhon proclaimed that this area shall now be known as Burns Park in recognition of his years of service.

You are looking for a micro in size container. For your convenience, there is a designated parallel parking space adjacent to this geocache. However, this location is near a busy roadway, and parents should use caution with their adventurous little ones. Additionally, you will need to bring a writing utensil to sign the logbook.
