I like to look at stars, and this is an excellent place to do so. Just far enough out of town that the city lights don't bother too much, but close enough that you don't have to make a trip out of it. Watch the traffic when pulling in, mind the dip, and come late to enjoy the stars in full view. Area is plenty safe to hang out for a while once you're off the road.
Update 9/10/2011 Do to recent muggle activity, I have moved the cache slightly to the west of the current coordinates. I will be getting new coordinates soon. It should still be easy to find. Just head west. PS - Spoiler is a major give away until fixed.
