The coordinates will bring you to the entrance of North Lake
Cemetery, located on Riker Road just a few miles north of Chelsea.
Once at the cemetery, find the exact spot where the photograph
below was taken. Then identify which gravestone is missing from the
picture and use the information found on that stone to complete the
final coordinates for the cache.
The cache is not located on or connected to any grave site or
marker. Please be respectful of the cemetery grounds and visitors.
If there are people at the cemetery, honor their privacy over a
smiley and consider trying the cache at another time.
If you are caching paperless, don't forget to take this
photo with you.
Calculate the final coordinates of the cache, as
follows:
1. Find the last name that appears on the missing
gravestone.
2. Using A=1, B=2, ... Z=26 translate each letter of the last
name into its numeric equivalent.
3. Subtract the sum of the 1st and 4th letter values from the
last three digits of the posted longitude.
4. Add the sum of the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th letter values to the
last three digits of the posted latitude.
The inspiration for this cache was peach107's What's
Missing? series in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Excellent ideas are
worth transplanting!
