UPDATE: Replaced the cache on January 4, 2015, with my daughter Millie, who was with me when I first hid this cache over four years ago, at just 5 months old. This time, she's running and picking out the hiding spot for the container. How the days go by so quickly!
Cache is now a small lock-and-lock, large enough for small swag and trackables. New hiding spot, new hint and new coords. Happy hunting!
UPDATE: Replaced this cache on August 21, 2011, 83 feet from the original location. New container is a camo container slightly larger than a match case. The hint has been updated as well.
My 10th Geocache hide!!! My original plan for Father's Day was to make my 500th find with my almost 6-month-old daughter Millie, who would be wearing her "Little Geocacher" onesie my wife got me last Christmas (just three weeks before Millie (our first child) was born). But, attaining 500 cache finds on that day proved unattainable, as I was sitting on 498 with no cache within 12 miles of me, and I couldn't very well leave all my family at my Father's Day celebration to make the long trek for a couple of grabs (though I really wanted to. Ha!). So my wife had the great idea that I could hide a Geocache with Millie -- that would give me my milestone 10th hide, and it would be Millie's first Geocaching experience. That sounded like an excellent way to remember my first Father's Day, so that's exactly what we did!
You are looking for a silver bison tube hidden at the old, closed (well, you can drive on it if you want to) bridge headed to all the camps on the Pearl River at Walkiah Bluff. My father-in-law has a camp on Parkside, where we spent Father's Day this year, as well many other holidays and weekends! It's a beautiful, relaxing place to spend some downtime. I put the terrain as a 1.5 only because you need to be careful on this bridge not to fall off; and watch your kids closely if they accompany you on this cache trip. I was joking about driving on the bridge; I wouldn't do that if I were you! Haha.
