This cache was in fact placed over three years prior to being published. I placed it back in 2010 when I was working on a solar system series that used the Beaver logo at the 50 yard line of Reser Stadium as the sun. The size and distance from the logo are reflective of the true relative size of Neptune compared to the sun and the distance Neptune is from the sun.
Unfortunately, my selected locations for some of the planets closest to the sun got used before I could get the series out. So, Neptune has been way out there on its own orbiting the sun all this time. I checked on just last week and it's doing fine, but is getting lonesome. Nature has done a great job of adding moss to the bark that Neptune has been hiding behind since I placed it.
I think it's finally time for Neptune to get some of the attention that it deserves. Please respect all the work mother nature has done over the last three years though and be gentle with the camo.
Best parking is at the three way intersection just 200 feet West of the posted coords. Make sure that you park out of the way of any passing traffic. In addition, there is sometimes logging going on up this way, so please drive cautiously. If the gate is open on the side road, please don't block traffic from that direction when you park.
No bushwacking is required to get to this one - just take a short walk down the trail.
