4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

While this cache is not on the Perth rail network it is related as the Whiteman Junction Platform #1 building was originally built at East Perth in 1898 , it was taken down and re-erected here in 1984. The building on Platform #2 and #3 is the old Subiaco canopy and signal box that were removed in the late 1990s ( when the Subiaco station went underground ) and then re-assembled here and re-opened in 2000.

The station is part of the Bennett Brook Railway which is operated by members of the Western Australian Light Railway Preservation Association. The Association started in April 1976 and now have a collection of rolling stock and buildings from W.A and the eastern states, which apart from the above buildings include the passenger bridge from Subiaco station , just North of Whiteman Junction , the old East Perth signal box at Mussell Pool and various steam and diesel locos.
For a fee you can even learn how to drive a 68tonne 2-8-2 NG15 steam loco over the 6.0km of 610mm guage rail through the banksia woodland of Whiteman Park

The cache is a magnetic key-case and contains just a logbook and pencils
