Located within Tishomingo State Park. There is a $3.00 entry fee per vehicle. Park closes at night to visitors.
You are going to be trekking along the Outcroppings Trail across from the Swinging Bridge seeking an medium sized lock n lock container.
Placed with the permission and co-operation of the Park Director. Be sure and mention geocaching during your entrance to the park : )
This cache is a tribute to a geocacher who has been called away. Billy Roy Harding (aka TrkDoc) left so many geocaching memories behind him as he passed away doing what he loved dearly; Geocaching.
As you travel to the cache look for the faded footprints of this great cacher as he himself had hid a geocache along this very trail. GCVVAH Swinging Bear . It is archived now but if you know where to look you will indeed see evidence of his past presence.
The route to the cache is fairly strenous and recquires a good bit of hiking over rocks and rock steps at a sometimes very steep angle.Wear appropriate footwear. A hiking stick would be useful.
The "logbook" is unique. Enjoy your visit and feel free to leave comments/memories in multiple places if you so choose.
*NOTE* I hate to say it but it looks like the original cache has been taken. It has been replaced by a clear medium sized lock n lock container.Please cover it back up well.
