Moel Ysgysfarnogod - Gogledd Rhinogydd - De Eryri (Northern Rhinogs - South Snowdonia)
This small cache was hidden when I was out working on a Mountain Leader Training expedition in July 2010. Moel Ysgyfarnogod (The Hill of the Hare) and its neighbouring summit of Foel Penolau are wonderful places to explore and enjoy the views of the sea, Penrhyn Lleyn, and the surrounding mountains of the Snowdonia National Park. The northern Rhinogydd is also quite a rugged area, great for practicing micro-navigation and Geocachers should note that there are few paths in this region.
A good parking spot is N52°54.219, W003°57.469, on the west side of Llyn Trawsfynydd.
Alternatively, parking can be found on the western side of the Rhinog ridge at the end of the tarmac road above Eisengrug at N52°53.263, W004°02.318. If you start from here, then a visit to Bryn Cader Faner at N52°53.874, W004°00.678 is essential.
The next nearest geocache is Climber1958's on Clip.
I hope that you have a great day out in the hills!
