Geocache Description:

Located on a bridge spanning the Maitland River. A memorial plaque is close by, telling when the bridge was built and who the local municipal officers were at the time.

My family has many memories of going over this bridge on our way to the family cottage. We still hold our annual "Gingerfest" family reunion at the cottage and have to go over this bridge on the way.
The cache is probably in an obvious place to most, although getting to it may take some dexterity... watch your step! While in the area, please respect the properties of neighboring land owners and don't stray far from the main road. Also, horse-drawn vehicles have been known to use this road, so be alert. This is a rather quiet road, so muggles shouldn't be too much of a problem.
This is a small camo-taped lock-n-lock container and can hold small items of swag or small trackables. When placed it contained (in addition to the log) some artificial shells, an animal figure, a whistle, and a "coin" 😉. There IS a writing instrument inside, although it's useful life may not last long, so it may be wise to bring your own writing utensil.
