Geocache Description:

The cache is located in a nature park. Most of the trails are paved but some are are gravel. Please park at the parking lot near the boat launch. If not you may be ticketed or towed.

The cache is large enough for traditional geo-swag trading. On your path you will see the GM Powertrain Plant. In Bay City’s heyday this was the leading employer for Bay City and Bay County. The land the Golson Park sits was donated by GM and with the help of local partners developed. See the sign at the walking path entrance. The site was selected because you will see how Bay City is trying to re-invent itself as a Green city.

So isn’t it ironic that…To generate the same amount of electricity as today’s US wind turbine fleet (25, 170 MW as of the end of 2008) would require the burning 34.4 million tons of coal ( a line of 10-ton trucks over 13,70 miles long) or 112 million barrels of oil each year.
