Geocache Description:

Welcome to the site of the Boykin Methodist Church. This church is in western Smith County and was founded by the Boykin families around 1830. The church was active until 1928. The original church building was destroyed by arsonists a few years ago, but it has been rebuilt. The site is a historical site and is registered with the MS Dept. of Archives and History.

The cache is a small lock-n-lock with a couple of small trade items. It should be a quick grab, but please take time to visit the site and the adjacent cemetery. The graves date back to the early 1800's. Please do not litter at this site.

The terrain is rated as such due to the potential for muddy roads during rainy weather.
