Geocache Description:

This memorial was created as a result of the inspiration of Arthur Helm, a New Zealand Veteran of the Battles for Greece in 1941.

It was brought into being by the Greek - New Zealand Memorial Association, which was formed for that purpose, drawing membership from the Greek and New Zealand Governments, Returned Services Associations, Wellington City Council and the Greek Community

This cache bring you to the memorial that commemorates the bond of friendship between the peoples of Greece and New Zealand, strengthened on the Battlefield of Mainland Greece and the Island of Crete, remembering with gratitude those who laid down their lives for freedom and democracy.

Have a good walk around and read all the plaques as they have some great information.

The cache is a 200ml screwtop container. When placed it contained a logbook only

Please bring your own writing instrument

Please NOTE that you must sign the logbook for each individual cacher or give proof of a photo for group logs to be emailed to the owner otherwise your log may be deleted. Please hide the cache exactly how you found it as we don't really want it to get muggled
