Young Reelers To Have Their Own Fishing Pond! was the title of a
Tri-City Herald newspaper article from March 2, 1952.
A 5 acre fishing pond was created in Richland's well recharge
basin for exclusive use by kids 16 years and younger. The pond was
initially stocked with1500+ 7 to 10 inch rainbow trout.
Obviously this pond does not exist, however, if you look close
enough toward Carmichael Hill and imagine hard enough maybe you can
see all the kids catching all fish.
Even though kids today can no longer fish, they still use this
area for some good times. Sledding in the winter and sports during
the remainder of the year.
